Picks Disease
A beautiful lady with a whole life to live, You were caring to others and had so much to give. With pride in yourself, your family and home, Then suddenly you're lost in a world on your own. Things happened to you, things that felt so strange, With hardly a warning your life began to change. It was the little signs way back at the start, That grew into more, and broke your family's hearts. As it seemed to progress with each passing day, The person they loved was just fading away. Often wondering exactly what it is that you see, As each day you're gripped further by this awful disease. You don't recognise them you don't understand, You no longer know your heart broken man. And your husband he mourns for the woman he knew, The beautiful woman he once knew was you. It's no fault of yours that you are caught in this way, Unfortunately this happens, I'm so sad to say. And now you are silent, dependant and in need, As a result of diseases unkind and cruel deed.
