I wish I was a poet
And set my spirit free
I want to tell you all about
What matters most to me

I wish I was a poet
I'd really like to say
Then I could tell you all about
What happened here today

I wish I was a poet
So wonderful and wise
So I could tell you what's behind
These old and tired eyes

Oh look, I am a poet
I've written this in rhyme
I've finally written something
Though its taken all this time.
