Rosie
Five little fingers and five little toes,
Two sleepy eyes and a little button nose.
Quiet as a mouse she makes no sound,
Whilst Mum, Dad and Auntie gather around.
Looking down at their little girl in awe,
Nine long months, this was what they waited for.
And now that she'd finally come into the world,
Tears of joy and thanks for their little baby girl.
And as for me, well this, it was my first,
The first time that I had ever witnessed a birth.
As I hear the sound of the parents joyous cries,
I try to hold back the tears within my eyes.
Cuddled up tight, looking nice and cosy,
I'll never forget the birth of little baby Rosie.
