Stormy Sea

The young girl looked out across the sea
High on the cliff as she waited for me
And as the fierce waves crashed on the rocks below
The young girl filled with dread and woe

From the lighthouse came its warning sound
But the little ship had run aground
In the desperation of our plight
We worked so hard in our bid to fight

But the waves kept coming over again
Physically weakening us fisher men
Then surrendering to a ferocious wave
We all sank down to our watery grave

And the young girl stood on the cliff alone
Watching and waiting for me to come home
Every night she goes there and waits
Refusing to accept the truth of my fate.
